Welcome to the secret spatula. My name is Emily and this is my food blog. I grew up in the countryside in the south of England, and now I cook out of my east London kitchen.
The way I like to cook is inspired by good times with family and friends, country hedgerows and urban food markets, and a love of warming, nourishing food. It’s important to me to try and be a thrifty and resourceful cook, using seasonal ingredients and making the best of leftovers.
The recipes you will find here will vary from easy weeknight meals, to baked teatime treats, to celebratory suppers. I hope you’ll enjoy having a look around.
